About me

Stephen Haines Photography started out as a one-man band years ago, but then I added the most important partner I have ever had, my wife Cecelia. Together, we connect with our clients on a level most other photographers cannot. Weddings, family beach portraits, children's portraits, we take joy in all of it.

Photojournalism style continues to be the most popular style of wedding photography. Many photographers claim to be photojournalists, but don't carry that real life credential. I have been a staff photographer for The Boston Globe, The Providence Journal and The Detroit News. My work has appeared in The New York Times, Time magazine, Life magazine and many other national and international publications. I have twice been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize and am currently teaching photography at Boston University.

Photography is a passion of ours, and it shows in our pictures. We work hard to capture the spontaneous moments others miss. We also want you to spend time with your familyand friends, so we won't take up too much time having you pose for pictures.
